Veniamin Kondratyev: New world-class hotel in Anapa marks milestone for region's tourism sector

The Governor of the Krasnodar Region took part in the opening ceremony of the five-star Miracleon Dusit Thani Resort & Spa Anapa.

Alongside Veniamin Kondratyev, the new accommodation facility was inspected by Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation; Svetlana Maslova, Mayor of Anapa; Valery Dimoev, investor in the Miracleon spa resort; Siradej «Champ» Donavanik, Vice-President for Dusit Thani Brand Development; and Alexander Ruppel, Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Region.

«The opening of a new world-class hotel in Anapa is a significant event for the city and the region's entire tourism sector. Just two years ago, at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, we signed an agreement to build this hotel, and today we are here at its opening ceremony. I would like to thank the investor for implementing these plans so quickly. I am convinced that this resort complex will set high standards of service and meet all tourists' expectations for a comfortable holiday, while also increasing competition among accommodation providers and raising the quality of services to a new level. In total, the Krasnodar Region has 347 premium-class hotels and health resorts, a figure that has grown by a factor of 1.5 over the last five years. We are currently implementing nearly 200 investment projects in the health resort and tourism sector, totalling 1.4 trillion roubles, including 22 agreements in Anapa worth 238 billion roubles. Their completion will further strengthen the Krasnodar Region's position as the country's leading tourist destination and attract new visitors to our resorts,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

Dmitry Vakhrukov emphasised that the opening of a new five-star hotel is a major event for the entire tourism sector.

«Just 10–15 years ago, tourism was not regarded as a fully-fledged industry, but we can see how rapidly the situation is changing. Today, tourism attracts significant investment into the economy. We are working as a large team at both federal and regional levels to ensure that such projects receive support. A new hotel is always a symbol of investors' confidence in the region,» said Dmitry Vakhrukov.

The Miracleon Dusit Thani Resort & Spa Anapa 5* is the first hotel in Russia to be operated by this international Thai brand. It comprises 182 rooms ranging from 45 to 180 square metres, all of which, along with the restaurant seating 275 guests, offer panoramic sea views. The menu favours producers from the Krasnodar Region and seasonal produce, allowing the hotel to combine international haute cuisine standards with the local flavours of the Black Sea coast. On the seventh floor is Russia's first 24-hour spa complex from the international Devarana Spa brand.
