Veniamin Kondratyev: The economy of the region is developing, all planned programs and projects are being implemented

The governor of Krasnodar Territory summed up the results of the past year at the beginning of the call-in show The Direct Line.

«The results of the year can only make us proud of the development of the region’s economy. I do not want to say that there was a pandemic, that we face unprecedented sanctions. Life goes on, and people do not need excuses. In 2021, the regional GDP was 3 trillion rubles, in 2022 it was 3.5 trillion rubles, in 2023 we reached 3.9 trillion rubles as of 4 December. I do not want to compare Kubab with other regions, I always say — let’s look at ourselves. Our industry is growing at 107.4 per cent. Construction, transport, and every sector of the economy is growing, more or less. The economy is developing, which means that all the planned programs and projects are being implemented. Today we are not talking about cutting costs, but about the increase of funds for programs and projects, the introduction of the new ones that will determine living standards in the region,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

Indicators are growing in import substitution industries, such as production of medicines and medical materials, electrical equipment, furniture. The IT-sector, production of drones are gaining momentum. At the end of 2023, the region’s revenues will amount to at least 465 billion rubles. Expenditure of 529 billion rubles is planned in the draft budget for 2024.

In 2024, Kuban plans to receive at least 491 billion rubles of revenue. The draft 2024 budget envisages 520 billion rubles of expenses, with 305 billion rubles allocated to the social sector.
